This question might sound stupid, but since I don't know too much about encryption (I used VeraCrypt and 7Zip/Winrar Encrypt so far) I always wonder what if a tool like Cryptomator, Boxcryptor etc goes down/vanishes ? Can you still restore with another tool or how does this work? I don't care because my stuff is encrypted with Cryptomator before it even touches their servers, but still noteworthy. It does not work with their macOS or Linux apps.
